SOUND TRANSMISSION
An STC (Sound Transmission Control) rating is a measure of how well a building product reduces sound transmission.

The higher the number, the better job a product does at keeping sound out.

Many factors impact sound transmission. In windows, varying the thickness of the two panes of glass or utilizing laminated glass are ways to reduce sound transmission.

The Coeur d'Alene Window Company offers a standard "sound control" glass package that incorporates 3.7mm glass with 3.0mm glass as an economical way to reduce some sound transmission.
