VIG - Vacuum Insulated Glass
The Coeur d'Alene Window Company is pleased to offer CDA VIG technology for the first time in our vinyl windows. With VIG (Vacuum Sealed - Insulated Glass) your window's insulating value (R-Value) can exceed R-11 (picture window). That's up to a 366% improvement over today's international building code and over a 64% improvement over Energy Star's 2025 Most Efficient Window Rating.

The key to the improved performance in CDA VIG windows is the creation of an actual vacuum within the first insulated unit. Two tempered pieced of glass are held apart by nano steel beams barely visible to the naked eye the prevent the unit from collapsing on itself and ensure the stability of the vacuum. This technology is decades ahead of standard insulated glass advances and ensures that your windows are likely the most efficient commercially available windows you will find.
Evacuation Port | Long-term protection
During the manufacturing process, residual gases, water vapor, and containments are removed through the evacuation port to ensure a high-quality vacuum in the cavity.
Once evacuation is complete, the evacuation port is permanently closed, and a protective cap is placed over the port for long-term protection.
